Cyberpunk 2077, the single player video game based off of the RPG Cyberpunk 2020, will be released in a month.
It's been ages since I devoted time to a single player game. And I did love me some Witcher action when CD Projekt Red did that series.
Things have changed since I bought those games. Gaming stores don't seem to offer PC games anymore. These days, everything is done on the download. Steam. Epic. Just enter in your credit card number, and it's yours as soon as the card clears and the download is complete.
Call me old fashioned, but I loved the anticipation of waiting for the stores to open, snagging a nicely wrapped copy, giddy with excitement as I gazed at the packaging while travelling home, the thrill of opening up the box, placing the disc in the CD tray, ultimately watching the progress bar load for the next twenty minutes. Then after the euphoria of playing and calling it a day, removing the game from the tray, hoping you didn't scratch it as you put it back in its case, thus forcing you to buy another copy because the thing now won't load.
Okay. Maybe downloads are the way to go.
