Wife and I have been watching the TV series Stumptown this season, which is based on a graphic novel series, and it's become a regular viewing staple for us. Not so much this week, when a special looking at the controversy surrounding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle aired on the US network in its place. So I had to let the wife down easy.
"Stumptown's not on this week," I said.
"Why not?" she asked.
"They're airing a show on the Royals. Something about digging deep into the hidden burdens they must face."
Wife snorted. She's never been into royal watching or celebrity gossip. "Who wants to watch a show about that?"
"The Americans, apparently."
"Why would they want to?" she asked.
"I donno," I said. "Maybe they're having independence remorse and want to see what they're missing out on."
