My wife and I don't give each other ultimatums. We both know that our egos won't let us back down, and we'll intentionally do the thing opposite to the ultimatum, just out of sheer spite.

Lately, however, she has becoming more subverted to my will. Whenever I say 'I'm taking you out to your favourite restaurant tonight, and then we're off to that new action film with all those barechested, ripped men, or the marriage is over!', she sulks and says, 'Fine, for the sake of the marriage...'
