Word Of The Day

I didn’t date much in high school. Or university.

Apparently I’m oblivious about women. I know this for a fact.

My wife told me.

Which makes sense, in an odd way. Way back when, I’d get my crush of the week, and try to woo her. It usually did not go over very well as I went overboard in my affections (no restraining orders or harassment  charges were issued, in my defence) and alienated the women folk.

On the other hand, there were times when women would act all weird around me, and for the life of me, I didn’t know why. Turns out they were interested in me.

I discovered this years later when I asked my wife, who happens to be a woman, about women and why they acted that way. I explained their actions around me from way back when and my wife sat listening in silence, a look of bemusement on her face.

When I finished explaining the situation, she said to me, “They were interested in you.”

“Really?” I asked.

She gave me a light smile and patted me on the head like a cherubic five year old who just finished making a mess in the kitchen by helping Mommy out with dinner. “Oh honey, you really are thick.”

So I could have dated.

Good to know.
