I recently celebrated my birthday, and my Wife and I talked about getting older.
"At least I'm back to being an even number," I said. Even numbers are important to us OCD folks. "I feel a little more normal."
My Wife smirked and shook her head. "I love you so much."
I wasn't sure why she said that. It's not that we need a reason to, but it seemed a little out of left field. "Okay... What brought that on?"
"You." she smiled. "You see patterns where there aren't any, and you don't see them when they're right in front of you. It's just the weird stuff that you say. So when I say 'I love you', I mean that I'm really happy that I married you."
And that, good people, is communication in marriage in action.
A rather backhanded one, but still.
