Word Of The Day

The first snowfall of the season hit overnight, and it hit hard. Three feet deep in my neighbourhood. Which means shovelling all that white stuff off the walk so the postal service can deliver my bills.

I don't mind snow. It's the wind that gets me. Especially when it's cold enough that the snow is essentially powder. Then it's a game of trying to keep your back to the wind so it doesn't just fly back in your face, stabbing little shards of ice into your already numb flesh.

It does, of course. Every time. The wind blows one way when you dig in, then does a one-eighty just in time as you huck the load off to the side. Most likely done with extreme spite. If it's one thing I've learned from movies, is nature finds a way.
