Word Of The Day

I'm old enough to remember when you bought a video game, you bought it lock, stock and barrel, with everything included in the software that you needed to play to a satisfying conclusion.

Now we've got microtransactions. We've had them for some time, and they don't seem to be in the process of ending anytime soon. Collector outfits. Better weapons. Special ammo. Horse armour. How did it come to be acceptable to plunk down hard earned cash to play a game, only to either grind your days away for the item you need to proceed, or allow the publisher to nickel and dime you every time you want to just move forward with the game you already paid for in the first place?
