Sources say Prime Minister Stephen Harper will go to the Governor General on Sunday to dissolve Parliament and call a federal election. Ordinarily, election campaigns run about five weeks in Canada. Mister Harper is not one to do things small, and since we have a fixed election date for October 19, that means we have an 11 week campaign. That's over 20% of 2015 listening to attack ads from all sides. For the campaign itself that is. We've been dealing with American style attack ads by the Federal Conservatives non-stop since the party was elected to government.
So basically more of the same. Except it'll have an interactive element for the masses.
